Im looking into upgrading from my prebuilt ASUS M51, a meh pc with a gtx 650 that my dad got me.

This is my current rig: http://www.asus.com/Desktops/M51AC but with an fx 8300 and gtx 650, and I want to upgrade the GPU and case

So, should I get an AMD 280x, or a gtx 770? Does anyone know a good, portable case for less than 120$ ?

Also, Linus (or anyone who knows), when did you first build a computer?

The FX 8300 is a strange CPU, but it's good.

Now, as for the rest. If you live in the USA, get a GTX 770. It normally is cheaper and still run games at Ultra settings.

The case then. I would recommend a CorsaIr 200R. Well priced and well built.

I would get a new motherboard and CPU cooler as well, but you don't have to. If you want, the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 and Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO are nice.

The problem with portability and AMD FX is that you will have to buy a shit motherboard to go Micro ATX.

true. portability is not really a thing with amd. otherwise define r4 or h440.
