Motherboard: Asus P5K

CPU: Intel quad core q6600

GPU: 7100 GS

PCU: MS Pro-550ATX P4

This is a very old PC and i know that

I want to buy a new GPU and i wanted the RX580 8GB but my PCU has only a 6 pin connector

I know my system is too old for that GPU but i wanted to buy a GPU now and put it in my pc and buy all of the other parts in about 6-7 weeks

Can u help me solve my 6 to 8 pin problem

Should i just buy a new PSU with the RX580 right now or what?

Thank u...

What PSU are you currently running in the system, not that pre-builds may have proprietary motherboard connectors that may or may not work with a standard off the shelf PSU?

I would upgrade the CPU to a Q9650 and add in more RAM and an SSD if needed.

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

Not only is that a very old PSU... it's a very BAD PSU.

Not only does it only have one 6-pin PCIe connector, it only has 192W available on the +12V and works only at 230V mains (which means if the mains drops, the PC shuts off or the PSU blows up).
