RAM Compatability

Go to solution Solved by Shimejii,

It would work, but as stated it would run at the lower speeds for all sticks.

I have currently in my PC a set of corsair  vengeance LPX 2x8 GB @3200MHz. Im currently using 2 of my motherboards  slots. (it is in the proper slots to utilize dual channel functionalities) Would it be possible to occupy the remaining two open slots with a set of corasir vengeance LPX 2x4 GB @3000MHz? Would this pose any compatability issues? I'm assuming the computer would recognize the difference in speeds and simply slow down the faster RAM to match the slower 4 gb sticks. Please correct me if I'm wrong and lmk any tips or if I should just buy more RAM.

Believe it or not, I've the exact same memory setup. I've two pairs of Gskill RipJaws DD4 one @ 3200 other @ 3000. Each stick is 8GB.

My question is, is it better to use just one of the faster pair instead of both? Or will using both sets benefit more with the extra bandwidth?

I plan to OC memory.

I mostly use PC for gaming.

CPU is Ryzen 2700X @ 3.7Ghz, non OC
