16gb Corsair vengeance lpx 3000

evga supermova 850g+ psu

So this morning my pc was working fine. I decided to do some tinkering and installed a pcie fan that I picked up from micro center a while back bc I thought it looked cool and would be harmless. When I went to to turn the pc on it started to boot as normal and then died abruptly. Since then I haven’t been able to use my pc. I removed the fan and checked for loose cables assuming that I knocked something out of place. After taking everything apart and putting it back together I was unable to get any signal and the multiple lights near the SATA ports on my Mobo are flashing when powered on but nothing happens when I hit the power button. I tried an old psu that I had and same thing happened So I’m assuming it’s not my psu? When I pulled out my cpu and flicked on the power the lights on the Mobo stopped flashing but instead turned red. Not sure what to do now. Thanks in advance!

Your motherboard has a diagnostics LED screen in the bottom right, put all your components back in as they were and please tell me what it says

I put everything back in and as you can see from the attached video

the lights are flashing and nothing appears on the diagnostic LED

I think you've fried your motherboard...

You're only supposed to plug one in. The fan header should always take priority, as it allows the motherboard to interface with the fan and adjust its curve. The molex plug is just there if you've run out of fan headers. 12 volts are being sent down the molex plug and by plugging them both in, I think you've shorted something.

Tragic... thanks for help. :/
