hi I was trying to build a dell optiplex with a core 2 quad Q8200 and it is a 775 socket and the motherboard is a 775 socket I am new to doing CPUS but will this prosser work

my rig right now:

AMD r5 240

2gb ddr2

250gb ssd

core 2 duo E4500

This is very confusing for me.  You want to build a rig or upgrade an optiplex?  Optiplex Ed are prebuilt machines made by dell.  Which optiplex?  That’s a line name but not a model.  There have been dozens of optiplexes.  Are you trying to build a rig with parts from an optiplex?  If this is the case part numbers are needed.  What does the AMD rig have to do with all this?  It’s clearly not an optiplex.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
