On OBS, for the video adapter, it gives me the option between GTX770 and Intel Hd 3000(i have an i7-2600k)

if i choose the hd 3000, will it use that to stream and then use a gtx770 to run my games? or will it stream what the hd3000 is processing, which is nothing.

Shadowplay is seriously the way to go.  I can record at 1080 for an hour at 60 fps and only have a 2-4 GB file. Not to mention that it outputs straight to H.264.

Why not just use shadowplay?

I'm guessing that it would stream the output of the selected device.

shadowplay on records the game, and not my desktop. and plus, it stops streaming everytime i alt tab. annoying and incovinient. not to mention shadow play uses more bandwidth than OBS, for some reason, OBS provides better quality and less ping impact than shadow play does for me.

As far as I know, the video adapter has to be the same one you are running your game/OS on. What you can do, however, is to go to the Advanced settings and check the "Use Quick Sync" box to use the iGPU to encode the video/stream. This will considerably reduce the impact on the CPU/FPS when streaming/recording, but moving image quality is greatly reduced as well (especially when streaming).

OBS provides better quality because it encodes using strictly the CPU, not with the dedicated GPU, which always provides horrible quality. The same thing goes with Intel's QuickSync. It relieves the stress of your CPU to another piece of hardware, be it built in to the CPU or GPU, at the cost of efficiency and quality. For this reason, I suggest OBS over Shadowplay. The only thing that's magical with Shadowplay is Nvenc (Nvidia Encoder), which has recently been implemented into OBS too. It requires a standalone license key, though, which sucks.

As for the adapter question, it decides which output OBS records, so you should set this to your dedicated graphics card.

Hey I use obs to record, but what kind of settings do you recommend to render them using sony vegas?
