No. threadrippers in general suck balls for gaming, but especially first gen. The motherboards are overpriced for it, and the memory support fairly eH. PLus, the cheapest I can find it for is $230, and can usually find it for $300. Just get a 3600 for gaming, and 3700x for heavier workloads, they'll run laps around the 1900x all day

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.
