Hello! So I currently have an Intel I7-7700K and it works fine. With that said there are some quality of life issues I am having with the motherboard. This is my fault for cheaping out on it and is something I regret however the board I am talking about is the B250M-DS3H. Some of the issues I'm encountering is things such as clearance issues with the GPU and the RAM, it's really difficult to take the RAM and graphics card out without feeling like I'm about to break something and also not having enough fan headers for all of my case fans and it's just frustrating really.

Anywho, looking to get a new motherboard I saw the Ryzen 3700x for £260 and a Tomahawk B450 Max for £100 on Amazon (UK) and so I thought well... If I'm going for a new motherboard then I might as switch to Ryzen and so I placed an order on a 3700x and the B450 board.

Now I'm thinking I'm a bit stupid because the 4000 series is launching but I don't know how massive the difference would be and it is still a fair bit away from launching plus, I've seen people in similar situations with people saying the 7700K is still one hell of a CPU and that they should stick to it. Now I wouldn't mind but I can't handle the frustrations of this motherboard so I'm now stuck in either just upgrading the motherboard and keep my 7700K or bite the bullet and keep my 3700x and Tomahawk Max order. If I do upgrade to Ryzen I would not plan to upgrade in a while whereas I don't when I would with the 7700K.

Opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :D

just wait for the next gen ryzen 4000. intel 10th gen will be a big dissapointment.

you have really good cpu, but you cant overclock it. mayby you can find second hand z270's and overclock your cpu.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.
