Hi  everyone, so today I decided to do some cleaning on my pc, I removed my graphics card (Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming) out the slot to blow dust off. After reinstalling it and powering back on I noticed the lights on the graphics card wasn't turning on. After researching similar issues on my card online, I tried reinstalling NVIDIA drivers, installing Gigabyte software AORUS ENGINE, XTREME ENGINE and OC Guru II to try controlling the LEDs but they didn't work. Finally I got the LEDs to turn on by re-plugging the 8-pin power cable.

Then, when I used Furmark to test if there was problems with the stability of the GPU, I discovered another problem. The maximum clocks of the card under load is 1835 Mhz (which is the Normal Boost clocks of the card when not OCed), while it was stable around 2063 Mhz (stable since I bought the card in 2017) before the cleaning. I checked my MSI afterburner settings and it was unchanged, it indicates the card was power limited.

I tried the following steps to no avail:

1. Reinstalling Latest NVIDIA Drivers

2. Installing NVIDIA Drivers Provided by Gigabyte's support page (384.76)

3. Reinstalling MSI afterburner

4. Using AORUS ENGINE, XTREME ENGINE, OC GURU II, EVGA Precision X1 to overclock

5. Reinserting the graphics card

I am totally baffled here, it seems like a problem with the GPU bios and its power limit but I have no idea how anything that I did would have changed that.

Interesting points to note:

1. EVGA Precision X1 shows the power limit and temperature limit at 0 and does not allow me to change it

2. AORUS ENGINE has power limit grayed out though I can change the temperature limit

3. Though the Gigabyte LED is is working the LED indicating Fan Stop is not working although the fans are stopping on idle normally.

PC Specs for reference:

Ryzen 1700

16 GB Corsair Vengeance LED @ 3000

Gigabyte GTX 1080 Gaming G1

MSI B350 Mortar

Any ideas on troubleshooting?

Thank you in advance.
