Hey everyone, first post here on the LTT Forums!

After two years of gaming and streaming on an iBuyPower PC I bought from Best Buy, I finally pulled the trigger and performed some slight upgrades.

Upgraded FROM -> TO:

Motherboard: ASRock Z370 Pro4-IB to a MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Plus

Storage: 1TB WD HDD @ 7500RPM to WD Blue 2TB SSD. Note: I did keep the HDD for extra storage.

Cooling: Some standard corsair single fan water cooler to a NZXT Kraken X52

Fans: From having only one fan on the water cooling radiator to adding 3 Thermaltake Pure Plus 12 RGB TT Premium Edition 120mm. These haven't came in yet but they'll go on the front of the case.

Here are the full specs:

System Specs

  • OS: Windows 10 Pro
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K @ 4.4GHz
  • COOLER: NZXT Kraken x52
  • SSD(s): 1x WD Blue 2TB, 1x Panther 250GB
  • HDD: 1x WD 1TB @ 7200RPM
  • RAM: Apacer XPG Z1 DDR4 3000MHx 16GB
  • GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 8GB
  • Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Plus

Peripherals

  • MOUSE: Razer Deathadder Elite
  • HEADSET: Astro A40
  • KEYBOARD: Razer Blackwidow X Chroma
  • MONITORS: x1 27" 165hz MSI G27C4 Curved Gaming Monitor / x1 24" Sceptre 75hz Monitor / x1 Acer A231H 23"

In the near future I'm hoping to upgrade to a 2080ti as well as an i7 9700K as well as some new RAM. If you have any suggestions for RAM or anything else I should look into, post them down below, I'd appreciate it!

Here are some pics of the setup so far.

Since both AMD and Intel also Nvidia is planning to launch their new hardware lineup this year, I think it's better for you to hold back on any of your upgrade ideas.

What hardware are they releasing? I usually never stray from Intel or NVIDIA. Good to know though, thanks for the comment.

They're planning to release the 10th gen Comet Lake and the RTX 3000 Series.

Didn't know that! Well, given the price of the current 2080ti, I better start saving.... Hopefully its not a $2000 card and a $900 CPU
