Greetings, I have encountered an issue with my GPU, in some games there are occasional white dots on the screen in some frames, although I have to pay close attention to find them. I ran FurMark and OCCT on the card and in both tests I didn't get any errors or artifacts. Can this be a software issue since it doesn't happen in every game and it's free of errors in the tests? I'd like to know if the tests rule out the possibility for hardware failure since I still have 8 months of warranty left on the card and I wanted to know if this can be caused by something else before proceeding to RMA it. Card is a GTX 1070 Gigabyte Windforce X2.

Thanks in advance guys, cheers!

Perhaps this is a stuck pixel(problem with the monitor). https://www.jscreenfix.com/

You can check using the link. You can try running DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and reinstalling the drivers. Maybe it could be an effect in the game?

It's not dead/stuck pixels, I checked beforehand and they're not static, it happens occasionally, it's either a driver or hardware malfunction. I haven't tried DDU yet, I will try it and check if it solves it. Do you think this can be a hardware issue? I've been told if it handles benchmarks/stress tests without it's usually okay, but the card is used and is quite old, but since it still has the warranty maybe I can still do something about it if there's still a possibility it might be a hardware issue.

Probably not a hardware issue but I can't be certain. Try reinstalling the drivers or going to an older version of them.

Did you recently upgrade to that GPU? What GPU did you have before.

I didn't have any, I made this rig out of used parts and I wanted to make sure this was a software/driver issue before proceeding to RMA the card since I didn't have any issues like this in other past rigs, since usually if there's anything wrong with the card it will show up on artifact/error scanners in the stress tests.

Try DDU I never heard of that issue before but usually if its bad hardware there would be some bigger problems and yes crashing during stress tests. Maybe its some sort of interference from the wire you used to hook it up to the monitor?

I have a HDMI cable as well, I'll try to hook it up to the monitor to see if that makes any difference and I'll report on it,as well as using DDU. The weird thing is that this wasn't happening on this card when I tested it before putting it on this rig, but it had another 1070 before in fact but with Micron VRAM instead of Samsung, maybe that's causing the issues.
