Hello just trying to see if this could destroy my hard drive or ram i don't have a graphic card. Well at the start of the story i tripped over my hdmi cable and it bent my hdmi on my motherboard i did it twice. This is what it looks like i bent it back to basically normal but i wanted to see what someone would say if it would be ok to play and would i need to worry about it short circuiting and destroying my hard drive or ram or cpu or would it not? I am getting another motherboard in a week but i want to know. Also i am asking people as much people as i can so i can see what others would say. Oh ya it did short circuit once already and all my hdmi pluged in did not work until i had to unplug all of them and plug them back in i don't know about the rest did not test it another thing is i had to see if all the lights was on the motherboard from what i seen they was.

Wow.  The pic was needed.  I wouldn’t have believed it without it.  I didn’t think that level of damage was possible without a vice and a hammer.

I personally wouldn’t let that cable near a machine I personally paid for.  I don’t know what the interior of that cable is made out of.  Some hdmi cables are “active link” and have chips in their connector heads.  If that is one such I’d kind of randomly label “it won’t work” at above 90% and it might fry my machine because hdmi carries real dc voltage at above 50%.

Someone who is more familiar with the interiors of those connector heads might be able to refine that a lot more.  My statement based on ignorance is when in doubt throw it out” and I am very much in doubt.  That’s me of course.  There are likely people here who know more about this than me.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
