Hello,

So recently my computer started doing some weird cpu spikes every few seconds. Before it wasn't the case, but now when im gaming it really stutters and it is really annoying.

It looks like this, I reset my computer everything works fine, 5-9% cpu usage while watching youtube or browsing facebook, but some time later, when everything is idle the graph looks like this (pic attached) and it randomly spikes from 5-30% when idle. I dont know what is happening, sometimes it says it is "svchost" another time that it is "System"

I normally associate a pattern like that with heat throttling.  Cpu use goes up till it hits a limit then drops.  Might or might not be what is happening.  Processor seems to be i7300hq.  Not very familiar with the behavior of that one.  Computers don’t suddenly change behavior randomly though.  Something has to change, be it an OS update, a bios update, a driver update, or something actually in the hardware.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

The temps are pretty stable, the dont change much and are pretty low. I dont know, just a lot of random processes pop up, like few svchost.exe etc. i dont think it is wirus because I;ve checked the computer few times with windows defender and eset online scanner.

Pinpointing the when could be useful.  This kinda makes it sound like a change cause by a windows10 update.  Rollback to an earlier version and see what happens? It doesn’t seem  dangerous at least.  Might be the new normal for that OS update.
