First I hope this is the right section for this, if not let me know and I will fix it. I have been into aviation all my life and even flew R/C aircraft for years when younger. I hold a private pilots license as well and have been eyeing the drone market the last few years. I am thinking of getting into the hobby and would like some advice on a good starter quad-copter that either has a camera already mounted, or that can accept one. I may use this to also apply for my UAV certificate to add to my PPL. I am not interested in racing at all and would like to keep it below 200$ US if at all possible. TIA

for that low price you have no other option but buying individual components of sites like hobbyking or aliexpress and making the best out of it.

Im guessing you already have a remote and receiver so all you need is a frame, 4 motors/esc´s and a flight controller.

any drone you can build for 200 bucks will not be a really good drone for filming as you want a bigger and heavier one so its not that affected by wind, in this price range you are looking more at racing drones that you can mount a go pro to.
