Remote Desktop while using USB license key

We've been attempting to use remote desktop to work from home and everything works pretty well except for me. I've have software that requires the use of USB license key dongles. They are currently attached to the host machine where the software is installed. I've tried USB redirection (actually enabled all devices to be redirected) and that still doesn't work. To be more specific, I enabled the redirection on both the host and client PC and plugged the dongle into both machines and the error still occurs. Keep in mind, I attempted this from my home computer and a different work computer as the clients.

 

As far as the actual error that occurs with the software, it basically says the license key cannot be found. The exact same error you get when you attempt to open the software when the USB dongle isn't plugged into the computer.

 

Any other ideas shy of using TeamViewer or something similar, is there a way to get this to work with Remote Desktop or any other thing that is very secure?
