Monitor Purchase

PeterF98

Hi guys,

I'm getting a new mac pro after having used a 27'' iMac 5k for a few years now as i need a lot more computing power at home for work and can't give up macOS.

The question though is monitor choice. The obvious choice (without going for the 7000$ apple display) is the LG 5k. But it has only thunderbolt 3 input and only comes in the 27'' size.

I really like the idea of going 21:9 with the 5K2K or even wider, but i don't know and have no way of testing weather going to 5k to effectively 4k (if you only count 16:9s of the 21:9) is a good idea. I spend most of my day in front of the monitor and the 216ppi of the iMac is a treat in the eye fatigue department. I've tried searching online with mixed results (from yeah no problem to don't even thing about it).

But as most of the world can do with 4k (or lower) i guess that so can I?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

Peter

Heyy ❤️

For the first week, you MIGHT notice a difference, it's absolutely normal, after all, you are used to 5k.

I'm pretty sure that after 2 months or so you won't even notice that you are using 4k.

Anyways, I hope that you won't notice much of a difference haha, good luck :)
