I want to overclock my monitor but i don't know if it would benefit me

dinosxx

I have a Samsung S27E500C and i was thinking of overclocking it to 75Hz. Is it worth it or will it be a waste of time?

You can always just try and do the overclock and then use https://www.testufo.com/ to see if there is a difference.

Some monitors do run on a custom resolution with a higher than factory refreshrate but the refreshrate (Hz) itself either bugs out (will cause weird stutters) or does nothing at all, meaning you cannot see any difference, like you never changed the refreshrate. I have the CRG9 from Samsung and I can push mine 20-ish Hz more but it doesn't work, I get weird stutters and so on.

IMO, it will never be a waste of time because it takes (atleast using an Nvidia GPU) 1 minute to make and try a custom resolution with a higher refreshrate. If it doesn't work, it will tell you that your monitor does not support the current resolution and refreshrate and if your monitor goes black or gets weird, simply press "Escape" to cancel out the test of the new resolution and refreshrate. Then you have used a couple of minutes. Nothing wild at all.
