Greetings all! So I bought a new case(snowblind s) and was super pumped about it. Decided to upgrade my cpu to a ryzen 9 3900x with an Asus X570 ROG Gaming-e mobo. Well while installing the m.2’s one of the screws broke off into the standalone. Didn’t think much of it since the m.2 slid into its spot and was held down by a heatsink shroud over the m.2 but upon powering up I keep getting “usb over current detected. System will shutdown in 15 seconds” I’ve done everything from taking out the cmos battery, resetting the jumpers and only loading with the bare minimum. Still getting the error message. Now I installed my old board and processor into the new case and I got the typical “cpu fan speed error” and a few other error messages(it was getting late so I rushed it) but the usb over current error was gone and i was able to go into the bios and the keyboard actually reacted. Is the new motherboard bad now that the screw is broken off into the standalone?
