Hey guys. I recently received a 2080 super as a gift from the family. I was going to upgrade from my 1080P monitor to a 1440 ultra wide. I was wondering if you think the i7 7700K CPU that I currently have installed would be up for the challenge and/or if I need to upgrade, what's the best and cost friendly way to do it.

7700K will be fine for 1440p ultrawide, overclock it to get a little more out of it.

It might struggle a bit to push high FPS in some more demanding open world games...but most games run fine on 4c/8t cpu.

I think 7700K is going to handle 1440p good enough... 8 threads, still decent nowadays.
