They also have a MSI B450M Pro-VHD for the same price. Im not sure really how to tell what motherboards to look out for for better results. Thanks

that's a much better option. there is a motherboard tier list in my signature. for a 2600x and future upgradeability, a tier D or higher is advised. the pro-vdh is tier D, while the ds3h is tier E

Im looking to throw together my first build, I am in the US. Pretty much ive been waiting around for some good deals at my local micro center, and I plan on acquiring parts over time. Ive been planning on getting a RX 580 (8GB) and pairing with a Ryzen 5 1600, open to changes. Right now my micro center has a RX 580 on sale for 144$, they sell new on amazon and newegg for 169$ on both. Also microcenter has some ripjaws 2x8 3200 memory marked down to 59$ and a mother board marked down too so some good deals for buying part by part. My issue comes with the CPU. My local microcenter almost year round sells Ryzen 5 2600x with cooler for only 99$. Searching for a ryzen 5 1600 online the cheapest ive found is 99$ on newegg and its even 107 on amazon. Im well aware that pairing those would be a massive bottleneck, but I have to pretty much get the 2600X considering the pricing. Not to mention I could resell my 580 and make back a good chunk of it because of the price i got it at. If i decide to upgrade my GPU down the road any suggestions or one i should hunt for now to go with a 2600X? Also the mother board at microcenter is a Gigbyte B450M DS3H ATX usually 73$ and its marked down to 40$ as an open box, if I decide to get the 2600x and wait on a better GPU after the 580 should i spend more on my motherboard at all?

i would definitely get the 2600x for 99 and pair it with the 580. there isn't such a thing as a gpu bottleneck.

i would try to get a better motherboard, the ds3h is a low end board designed to power ryzen 3 systems and can't cope with the power hungry 2600x.
