Everything appears compatible. Make sure you get a PSU capable of this system, you didn't specify it here.

It depends on what you're doing with the computer. Something is always going to bottleneck, ideally you want everything being utilized evenly, to have maximum value.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

My psu in Corsair RMx 850 fully modular which is good for this build. What I mainly do is play games like fortnite, Rainbow 8 siege, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, browse the internet, the regular. No steaming. I might do VR in the future.

welp i would just downgrade the 2080Ti to 2080 Super if its just 1080p High refresh rate gaming, If its Ultrawide i would reccomend the 2080Ti

I also will most likely get a 4k display, should I still keep the RTX 2080ti.

yeah keep it. No reason to not keep it, well you cant get a high refresh rate with 2080ti max settings just lower it down or if you just play with a 60Hz then turn on V-Sync for better latency iirc.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the only real demanding game there. You might be able to save some money on a lower end GPU, if you drop the settings down from Ultra in it.
