i have a ryzen processor (r5 2600) and i know ram speed matters alot with ryzen but i only have 2666 mhz ram, i overclocked my ram to 3000 and didnt seem to have any issues, im wondering how far i can go with overclocking my ram.

what timimgs are you using?

not the tighest of timings, that can be hard to judge how capable it is (other than that it's not crap)

 

Maybe try 3600MHz and see if it still works. If it can boot but does not pass basic stress test (e.g. Prime95 blend test), then back down to 3466MHz and start tuning the timings, say 16-22-22-40

3600 put my system in a power on, and power off loop, making me take out my cmos battery and put it back in which was conveniently behind my graphics card

 

3466 prevented windows from booting properly and crashed my bios after 30 seconds,

 

3200 worked, havent tested if stable yet

 

i havent changed my timings because the first one in my bios said 16 although cpuz said 18 was the first one and i was confused.

I assume 16 is what it runs on 2666MHz, so when you choose 3200MHz it automatically raises it to keep the ratio as close as possible to the original values

im gonna keep it on 3200 or 3000, so im getting the most out of my cpu, im not really having issues anymore and cpu benchmark scores seem to be higher so thanks for your help.
