External HDD disconnecting

Hey so i bought this external hard drive to hold my game library for my laptop about 5 moths ago and since about a month now its been disconnecting and reconnecting instantly every 30 mins or so when i download something on it or play a game that's installed on it, i've looked every where for a solution but i haven't seen anyone who has a similar problem. 

i would appreciate it if someone could help me out .

You could try changing the cable, there could be possible wear and tear in the cable which causes the issue

i will try to change it but i dont think that is the problem because the cable is still new it's not even bent or anything. thanks for your help
