Reusing Windows SSD

I am building a new computer and was wondering if I could simply plug in my old SSD with windows and call it good? Or do I need to completely reinstall and activate windows for a new pc? Or is there something else I can do with my SSD with windows? Thanks for the suggestion!!!

You'll find that Windows doesn't play nice when booted from different hardware with which it was installed to. Even if it boots, it will simply deactivate because enough of the hardware has changed that Windows will see it as a different computer.
