M.2 compatibility

Hello i hope you are all healthy and safe. I own an alienware 17 r3 and i want to upgrade my internal storage with the addition of an m.2. Does anyone know if there are any limitations to what i can upgrade to? For example can i use a corsair mp510? Or any other nvme drive?

If it has the M.2 connector it should.

Not necessarily, some M.2 sockets are SATA only.  However this particular laptop seems to support PCIe/NVME so should work fine.

obviously you wont be able to use one with a heat-sink mounted to it though. wont fit

Thanks for your assistance. I checked the connector and it seems like PCIe.

I don't need a heatsink probably. So far my 860 evo ssd never goes above 41 °C.
