I managed to get a liquid cooled vega 56 for really cheap (like best I could get otherwise was a rx570) from someone that was redoing their system and going full costum loop.

It's a gigabyte reference vega 56 with an alphacool eiswolf cooler on it.

My problem is I put my desktop in an old case I still had from ages ago (a zalman z9 plus) and that thing does not support a 240mm rad. I've looked around for some cheap cases and I think the cooler master q300l will do the trick. However I'm still looking if there is something better for not too expensive as I want to keep this at around 70€ max.

System specs:

Cooler master mwe gold 550w

Ryzen 2700x

Scythe ninja 5 cooler (it's really big)

16gb ddr4

Asrock b450 steel legend micro atx board

1 nvme drive

1 2tb hdd

If you know of any case for under 70€ that could be better let me know. I just want to keep it as small as possible.

I also have been looking at a couple riotoro cases but not sure about that yet. I don't care about rgb and the like all I want is silence and not something extremely flashy.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I had the versa h15 come through a couple times and not a fan of its looks reminds me a lot of 2010 systems. Fractal seems nice but is like the size of smaller atx cases.

I personally like my computer to just be a box that is tucked away somewhere sorry if I wasn't clear about that.

@jaslion Doesn't the Z9 have that big mesh sidepanel? Shouldn't be a problem screwing in a radiator diagonally.

It does but the holes don't line up and the rad will get in the way of the cooler on the cpu then as it's a 155mm tall one.

@jaslion I understand. So this may not be the best solution but you could just mount or place the radiator on the bottom of the case in a vertical position so that the fans will blow back. I have done this with 120 mm AIOs in tiny ITX and HTPCs that had no mounting position either. Did work pretty well actually. Sure not the the cleanest solution but if it works. But make sure none of the cables touch the blades of the fans.

I could try that as a temporary solution but not permanent as this computer goes on a trip with me about once a month when doing a live demo of a project where my laptop doesn't cut it :p.
