Android SMS Question

I only have a little bit of Android programming experience. Is it possible to send/recieve GPS position data over txt/SMS? I'm asking because I can get unlimited txts with a really cheap plan. So if I send GPS data over txt I can track my car with my old phone and I don't have to pay for data or a more expensive car tracking system.

Well... it's just plain text. You can send whatever you want but you'll need something that understands the data format on the other end. You could use json for example.
