Hello!
I can't find the new m. 2 ssd I just bought, in the bios. Can anyone tell me what to do?

All help is appreciated!

What M.2 SSD and what motherboard do you have?

It seems like M.2 support depnds on what CPU you are using, so could you please provide the info on what CPU you have in your system too?

Yes ofc. I have an Ryzen 5 2600

Make sure you're using the top M.2 slot (otherwise you main PCIE x16 slot will run slower) and make sure you are not using SATA_5 and SATA _6 (so plug your drives in the other 4 SATA ports below):

If this is all the case and the M.2 drive is still not showing up, I would try to reseat it. Take it out of the slot and re-insert it. Ensure there is a standoff (little 'post'/'pedastal') below the screw of the M.2 SSD.

The other drivers are plugged in the lower SATA ports.

I don't have a standoff below the screw, because I dont have one available right now. Why would this matter?

Without an M.2 standoff the SSD will be bent in the socket and possible not make proper contact because of that.

Photo of a standoff in the board. The end of the SSD should rest on that.

Simple illustration of what happens when you don't have a standoff installed:

The SSD will bend at best, possible not make contact too, because the bending could cause the SSD connectors not to touch the motherboard M.2 connectors.

Ensure there is a standoff installed in the right location.

Yes, I understand.

The screw is not screwed all the way in and it lays pretty flat, so I dont think that is the issue.

In that case there must just be something wrong.

Try to install the SSD in the bottom slot (preferably with a standoff) and see if it works there.

A little update:

After I plugge out the other 2 disks, I managed to install Windows on the m.2 ssd (this was the plan from the beginning) and then choose it as boot option 1. But I still cant find it the bios, but I guess that doesn't matter.

What should I do next? Now my other ssd still have Windows on it. Will this be a problem or can I just connect it to the mobo again?
