Displayport not working

Hello!

 

I just built a pc, but I can't seem to be able to connect my monitor through displayport. In the newest NVidia Control Panel I can't even setup the output resolution. The port doesn't show up. I've tried both ports on my graphics card (Gigabyte Aorus Windforce 1070 Ti OC Edition).  Can anybody help me out here?

It is not, as no output is coming out of the graphics card. It says that the only output is the HDMI attached to the same graphics card...

do you have both the hdmi and displayport plugged into the monitor

Yes

take out the hdmi,  change source to the display port if it does not automatically change itself

It doesnt' because there is no output coming from the graphics card. It just goes to sleep...
