They can all do it, the cable and connector for each task are mechanically and electrically identical.

Hey all, silly and stupid question incoming:

I'm looking to do something similar to this https://imgur.com/gallery/bKU4H/ but using the V-MODA Boompro microphone. Now for the question, do all 3.5mm Male to Female cables transmit microphones, or is it a specific type that will transmit it properly without issue.
