Light, thin laptop

Looking to buy a work laptop. 

Must have -

* Good battery life, at least about 8 hours.

* Lightweight

* Backlit keyboard. I don't know how common these have become, bu alot of laptops I look at online don't list backlighting as a feature one way or another.

 

Strongly like to have a touchscreen, given how much easier it can be to quickly select things with compared to finding the mouse or hunching over the trackpad, but it isn't essential. Currently using a HP Pavillion with a 6400u, which ways a ton, can get 2 hours of battery life if it's lucky, and has no backlit keyboard. 

 

Would prefer to have some gaming ability, somthing like a Ryzen G with 16gb RAM, but it's more of a bonus than anything

 

I'd prefer to spend around A$1500, but it's a value proposistion. I'd be happy to spend far more to get a more complete product. 

 

Any suggestions?

Look at a Lenovo ThinkPad T490(s), ThinkPad X1 Carbon or HP EliteBook 840 G6. Those three business class laptops are all fantastic high end machines with top of the line durability, reliability, electrical design and input devices. Battery life should be about 10 hours or so on the 1080p models
