Hello,

This is my first post and don't know how to start this...

I'm planning to buy my fist desktop pc,

i can't build one so I'm buying one ready built.

i have 3 options which are all priced not far from each other but have slightly different specs and I don't know which one is better value for my use.

And if these builds are good or bad.

I will use it for music production as a hobby not professionally also for casual gaming and photo editing and little bit of work.

I'm getting a desktop pc instead of a laptop because i had laptops and for almost 10 years never used it out of the house so I thought why compensate the performance for portability and not use it.

note:

i live in KSA and the prices may seem expensive.

(spec lists attached)

1st option:

Price is equivalent to USD 1,370

Motherboard: Gigabyte B365M H

Processor: i5 9400F 2.9GHz

RAM: 16gb DDR4 2666MHz

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super 8gb GDDR6

Power Supply: Thermaltake 650w

2nd option:

Price is equivalent to USD 1,410

Motherboard: MSI Z390-A Pro

Processor: i5 9600K 3.7GHz

RAM: 16gb DDR4 3000MHz

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2060 Super 8gb GDDR6

Power Supply: Thermaltake 650w

3rd option:

Price is equivalent to USD 1,570

Motherboard: MSI Z390-A Pro

Processor: i5 9600K 3.7GHz

RAM: 16gb DDR4 3000MHz

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super 8gb GDDR6

Power Supply: Thermaltake 650w

Thank you everyone in advance

are there any ryzen alternative? they are better for music production and editing and usually cheaper for the performance they offer.

I couldn't find any ryzen,

as for music production I'm not a heavy user

so I don't think i need higher specs

my current laptop uses 3rd gen i7 and it is from 2013.

i think anything above that is good for me , but I'm concerned about the gaming performance.

i would definitely try to get the i7. the i5 is already obsolete for gaming

But is it worth the price difference for casual gaming?

the way I see it:

i would pair the i5 with the 2060 super

i would pair the i7 with the 2070 super.

it all depends on the kind of games you're playing, what monitor you have, and what performance you're expecting.

Games like COD Warzone, apex legends, pubg, and need for speed( pretty much all games i play)

monitor is an Acer Gaming monitor 27" 1920 x 1080 1ms 144Hz

as for expected performance I don't know what to expect as I've never experienced pc gaming since red alert.

you'll get good performance in those at 1080p with either build.

I would go with the 2nd one for 1080p gaming. The i5 9600k is slightly better than the i5 9400F. Faster ram. A 2060 super is enough to get 1080p 144fps.

i agree. with the second build, for $40, you get better cpu and faster ram.

Edit: Nevermind, you also get a worse gpu. not sure what to pick here.
