so for a long time my Internet speeds on my computer were Fantastic this period it's been getting a lot Worse for some reason and i've tried a lot of tweaks and stuff but nothing happened

it's becoming frustrating to use it that's if i can use it , i know the problem isn't from my ISP since my phone gets 10 mb/s but my computer only gets 2mb/s MAX

which is weird i Tried formatting my computer at first it felt like it got kinda fixed i was able to get 6mb/s but after like 5 minutes it dropped down to 4mb/s and it got fixed there

now my internet is back to 2mb/s i don't understand why it's like this i tried Flushing DNS and other stuff but nothing seems to fix this i'm Worried that i got like a virus or something on my Hard Disks

i got 2 :

1- Has windows and essential programs

2- Games and Programs that i install after installing a clean copy of windows

is there any one that can help me? thanks in advance i hope to find a solution for my problem cuz i can't keep going on like this 😢

  1. What download and upload speeds are you supposed to get from your ISP? What are you paying for?
  2. Do you get better speeds if wired directly into the modem/gateway from your ISP?
  3. Is there anyone else using the same connection when you're running the speed tests?

Hello Mr.Falcon1986 thank you for answering me :) .

i pay For 12mb/s download and 1mb/s upload and those are the speeds i get when i get my computer wired directly into the modem
and there were around 4 people using the internet when i did that test and now only me since everybody is sleeping xD

doesn't look like it got better though :c also i can't keep my Computer wired because it's gonna pass through an essential room in the house where every 20 seconds someone passes and potentially trips also my mom doesn't want cables around the house xD

and distance isn't my problem here since on my phone i recieve 10 mb/s but on my pc i don't :c from the same room

sorry if my english feels a bit off it's not my First language and i'm doing my best to evade mistakes

Also i got 2 wifi adapters , one i just bought yesterday and one that i had for 3 years

the old one for some reason works good when there are people connected with me on the same network and the new one works Good when there is nobody connected with me on the same wifi

right now i'm getting around 6~~7 Mb/s (somtimes 9mb/s) with the New adapter while i was getting 2mb/s with the old one

but during the day with the new adapter i get 2mb/s and with the old one same result and sometimes the old one works Better than the new one

sorry if my text confuses you

🤔 You might want to consider the use of a wireless access point instead. I don't think a wifi adapter will solve the issue you have with the signal itself. Wireless access points are used to extend the coverage area of a network, the wireless aspect of it in particular. The only downside, if you even consider it a "downside", is that you have to use an Ethernet cable to connect it directly to your modem/router. You need to have a chat with your mother about this so you can get the performance you are paying for.
