BIOS UPDATE

Hello,

I am looking to buy a new pc, which I will be making myself. I want to go with the 3600 processor but on pc part picker it says I need to do a bios update on the motherboard to use that processor. My question is will I need a new motherboard or will I need a older cpu to run the bios update and then install my 3600. Thanks :)

Share a pcpartpicker link so that we can see

 

any MSI motherboard with MAX in the name is updated to run 3000 series Ryzen, as is the ASRock B450M/AC

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
