First build

Go to solution Solved by Bossman12112,

Looks good for a first build. Definitely better cable management than what I would have done.

So today Mark's the finalization of my build, this my first gaming rig that I have built from the ground up. Now I will say it was "done" and running 2 weeks ago but I ran out of funds for my graphics card and m.2 boot drive.

My specs are as follows

Motherboard: MPG X570 gaming edge wifi

Cpu: ryzen 7 3700X

Ram: corsair vengeance pro 3200mghz 32gb (2x16) ddr4

Boot drive: m.2 970 evo 1tb

Storage: 860 evo 1tb

Graphics card: RTX 2070 super ventus OC

Power supply: evga 650w

Case:Msi MPG Gungnir

Tell me what you guys think, everything went together perfectly and didn't have any hiccups. Until I wiped my previous boot drive by accident :P but that was a minor thing. I'm currently installing all my stuff.

Looks pretty good but had you gone for maybe a Ryzen 5 3600 and 16GB of ram, you might have been able to grab your GPU sooner, and possibly even a better one. Not sure what kind of games will utilize all the power of a 3700x and 32gb of ram, but I suppose if you decide to do any content creation, you can now.

Edit : Is your cpu cooler upside down? I'm kinda triggered that the AMD logo isn't at the top.

Agreed. Mine is booty. With only 1 SYS_FAN header and needing a 4 way splitter to my fans, its a bitch to cable manage in my rig.

Yes, why yes it is. When I first built it didn't have any 90% alchol to remove factory thermal paste so I left it. I just bough some today to fix that.

My ssd is currently disconnected for boot managing reasons. But normally everything is connected and that wideban connector for the msi controller is to big to fit in the cable trainer.

Still did better than me. I've got a very small shitty motherboard with very limited room and connectors and a non modular PSU, so shit is just everywhere. When I do my upgrades soon, I'm gonna change out my PSU to a fully modular.

Yes the 650 is only semi modular, I cant remove any cables but it has all the cables needed. I need a longer cpu power and I would be able to route that cable a lot better.

What brand did you pick? I'm surprised that a 650w semi has ketchup/mustard cables still.
