Is the gpu dead?

The problem is simple. After cleaning my PC it didnt boot. Troubleshooted everything. Managed to narrow it down to the gpu. Conneced a rly Old one and everything works fine. 

The gpu (gtx 1070ti rog strix) spins, lights up when i plug it in etc but there is no signal. Tried pluging it into the mobo a few times. Doesnt seem to "click" but it stays there. I tried pushing it hard into the slot, didnt help. Is there eny Way to tell of the gpu is dead? I dont have another pc to plug it into. 

The only indicator that it might work is that when i forgot to plug in the 8 pin cable the monitor displayed a reminder to do that.

Did you try a different power supply?  What kind do you currently have?

And make sure all the power connections are on right.

I have a Corsair tx 650. It's 2 monthes Old ish. I didnt try a diferent psu but i Just dont understand why would it fail even if i didnt plug it out or enything. + the pc still works. Just with a shitty gpu (which i admitt doesnt require a psu cable)
