So i was testing my rig and saw that my vsync was turned on , when i turned it off my cpu runs hotter while playing apex legends , max temp is around 86 degrees. So i turned off my CBP and PBO to reach cooler temps. I want to know will it hamper my CPU? Also is there any other way to down my cpu temps while CBP and PBO turned on and vsync off. I am using Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler and my mobo is MSI B450m Mortar max. I tried cleaning my pc, opening the side panel and all the other things. My whole pc's age is around 4 months and at first i did not run into issues like this. Also due to the pandemic all the parts shop is closed and i can not go buy a after market cooler. Also i should mention while playing games it always sits at 75-85 degrees Celsius. When i disabled both CBP and PBO the system gets max temp of 73 degrees. Please help me.

Vsync limits the framerate, so less frames for the CPU to render.

86c is pretty warm but not too close to the 95c limit.

My advice would be to order a better cooler online, maybe some better case fans. There's not really a way to reduce the heat but keep the performance.

Possibly a small negative offset on the core,  like 0.015 to 0.030v may see a small reduction without performance loss.

What cooler and thermal paste are you using and what case do you have to work with?

Upgrading the cooler and installing good-quality thermal paste should help with lowering the temperatures. Additionally, ensuring that you case is getting proper air-flow is important. Please include a list of fans that you currently have operating in this system?

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,
