SO, ever time I've tried to OC my RAM, or really even tweak it at all my system becomes completely unstable and crashes constantly until I reset the BIOS.  I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong, and I'm wondering if any of you could point me in the direction and teach me what the seemingly 5000 acronyms all mean. haha.

I've tried following a few guides online, but they all seem to have either different terminology, or use acronyms that are either not on my motherboards BIOS setting.  I've even used the Thaiphoon application to input my RAM's info into the Ryzen DRAM Calculator, and it's still unstable.

If I'm being super greedy, I'd also like to find a good resource for all the different dialects used with different mobo manufacturers.  I've built systems using MSI, Asrock and Gigabyte mobo's and they all seem to have different terms for the same thing.  When someone does a video on it, or makes a guide they always say "in this motherboard it's called 'X' but it may be different in yours."

As always, that's for the help.  And yes, I've googled it, but there are a lot of resources out there and I'm mainly hoping to be pointed to one that people may think is better so I don't have to sift through dozens of sites.  Thanks!!

Someone could just directly help you with your setup. Guides are nice for a starting point. It's up to you after that because every systme is different.

You only need to concentrate on the board you have and the terms for it.

Lastly, getting some help for you would be super difficult. Nobody has a clue what hardware you have.

Good Luck, stay frosty, and have a safe day!!

I'm more of a "teach a man to fish" kind of person honestly.  I'd rather go through the process of learning all about it so I can comfortably do it myself.  I've done builds with MSI, Gigabyte and Asrock motherboards, all on different chipsets and all have very different BIOS options and terms.

FWIW I have a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master mobo on my current gaming setup, but my recording studio is on a Z270 Taichi from Asrock, and my media PC is my old gaming PC that's on an MSI X370 mobo.

I was watching a Ryzen 3000 overclocking guide from the LTT channel but it was on an ASUS mobo with all sorts of functions not listed on my board, but I have to assume that the functions are in there, but just called something different.
