Hi, I have a Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F motherboard and a Samsung 970 nvme m.2 drive and I installed it on socket 1 on my mobo it isn't covered with a heat sink because I lost the stand-offs for the heat sink one and installed windows on the drive and am using it in that socket but I found the stand-offs and want to move the drive to the socket with the heat sink but will that damage or corrupt the data on the drive or confused the computer or will it be safe and easy to do?

Thanks,

Just as you can switch sata ports.

But you may need to reselect boot drive in bios.
