Using 4-Pin Fan Splitter with 3-Pin fans

Recorsi

Hello,

my mainboard only has two fan headers for my six fans.

I want to get a passive fan splitter that doesn't require extra power. I saw this one on amazon, but it has 4-Pin connectors, while all my fans are 3-Pin.

My question is now: Can I connect my 3-Pin fans to two of those fan splitters (3 fans each), and still be able to control their speed in the BIOS?

Thanks in advance!

You will want to check the amperage capability so it would not exceed your header but yes you can connect 3 pin fans to a 4 pin header. The only requirement for control at that point is to ensure the header on the motherboard has a capability of DC voltage control.
