So I have two 240Hz monitors. I've pretty much always played on console, but I'm looking to move to PC. That being said, I literally know nothing about it. But what I'm looking to get out of my PC is 1920x1080 resolution and at least 120fps. Mostly play first person shooters, such as COD, but also play stuff like Kenshi. I'm okay with a pre-build, or a custom build. Looking to not pay more than approx. $2,500.

You had such a huge budget that this thing is gonna do 1080 in well over 120fps. This thing is also capable of 1440p gaming and even 4k @ 60hz

How high do you think the fps could get up to with that build?

*edit*: If I mainly just wanted to get 120fps on call of duty with decent graphics settings at 1080p what kind of build could I go with?

Also, my monitors are Acer Predator xb272's

Oh yeah, this will run that no problem. My little Ryzen 3 with the APU runs it fine so you will have absolutely no problems with this build.

I appreciate the help. This is what I ended up with. I built it on NZXT.

FYI, Intel isn't a great platform at the moment. Also, why do you ask for suggestions and then completely disregard them?

Well, after asking and looking at your suggestion, I realized that even having someone tell me what to get I still had no understanding of what any of it was. So I ended up finding a coworker (I didn't know he knew a lot about computers) help me understand a little more and helped me partially with the build. Then I still knew I had no idea how to put the stuff together and saw I was about to get in way over my head. I've heard good things about NZXT builds, so I headed over there and built it. Their website gave me some more understanding about how the components work and what they do. On top of that, they build it for you. As for the processor, they only offer Intel so that's what I went with. Lastly, I just wanted to at least finish up the thread with what I ended up getting, to see if I did somewhat of a decent job and to thank you for trying to help me. Hopefully you understand.

*edit*: Also, I have no idea if I listed the parts 100% correct. But basically I just did a NZXT build and tried to find the correct components on that handy little website you posted.

*edit2*: I did at least get the case you recommended, if it's any consolation... and for the most part, it looks like I got very comparable parts, other than I dropped down a few levels on the graphics card.
