Hi all, I’m finally putting some money towards a new pc build. I currently have an i5-3570k with two gtx 970s running sli.... so I’m overdue to say the least.

My budget is $3000 AUD ($1800 US) I’ve also put aside $2000 AUD ($1200 US) for upgrading in the next few years. I don’t want to have to overhaul everything again.

The number one use of this pc is for gaming. Nothing else. I overwhelmingly play FPS games, apex, bf5, doom, cod etc. So I’m after a system that will give me high FPS for my benq xl2411 144hz monitor. I am thinking of upgrading that at a later date but for now that’s not a priority.

I have thought about reusing my silverstone fortress ft02 case to save a few $$... but it might be time to upgrade that too.

I’m also worried about buying a GPU at this time with nvidia so close to announcing a new line... but i've got free time now thanks to COVID-19 cancelling my overseas trip... yay! (sorta)

I would really love your feedback on my build!

That’s some great changes thank Plouffe. I noticed is pcpartpicker is says:

The Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.”

do you think this will be a problem for the 2080 super? Or should I change the psu to the 750watt model?

It doesn't change anything for the GPU, it's for the CPU (8+4 in that case) but don't worry the 8pins can already delivers 384W (your CPU will never reach that).
