Why does my bios look like this now? it’s really ugly. I don’t know how to access the advanced mode it used to be f7

What part about it makes it "ugly"? The colour scheme? The layout?

I updated it, it’s actually really old looking. I used to have a nice msi layout and now I can’t understand how to overclock. My ram is running at 2666 now too

Old looking as in...what, it looks like an older version of the BIOS? You did upgrade and not downgrade, right?

I may be wrong, but I remember hearing about the bios updates being really large with the updates for Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) and the storage space on the bios not fitting it will. Apparently they had to cut back some menu features.

Go to the overclocking section, went through this on the B450 Tomahawk for my friends build.

OP, your old BIOS was pre-Zen2, so you had their fancy graphic BIOS. But after Zen2 came out, that fancy BIOS took too much space and they had to scale it back.

I had heard they would try to bring it back overtime once they were sure everything worked properly... But honestly, it's not a big loss. The bios is functional.
