It comes with 4 ARGB fans which connects to a hub.

The problem is, my motherboard comes with only 4 pin 12v RGB ports and no 3 pin 5v ports.

So what I'm planning to do is buy a 5v to 12v converter:

And connect the fan hub to this converter.

 

So my basic plan is to connect all the 4 fans to the hub and then connect the hub 5v port to the converter.

 

Will it work?

If I recall correctly, the pinouts for the fans and the LED's are different. So if there is a controller hub for the fans, there should be one for the LED's on the fans, you might just need a LED controller that is independent of the MB and connects via the USB header.

 

At any rate if it's powered by a SATA power, it's independent.
