Static Sound

Whenever I connect my headphones to my computer directly (either in the 3.5 mm input in case or in motherboard) I have a weird crackling/static sound, and I cannot hear any sound at all coming from windows. although my monitor sounds work just fine

                                      JOE? who that?

 

Running on a laptop that's older than me in terms of physical and mental abilities

Is this a computer you built or a pre-made system you bought?

I built it, but this problem literally happened today, and it worked the days before today
