So I installed a m.2 ssd onto my msi z390 gaming plus mobo, now I can see the ssd in bios info, and I can see it in windows device manager. but it will not show up in c/ drive has a an available storage device to move files to and fro. When i check the device manager info, it has up to date drivers and windows reports it has working but not initialized? Is there a step I missed? Do I need to format it or change something in the bios to get it to show up to move files to and fro? Any help would be appreciated, I feel like an idiot XD

search in the start menu for "Create and format hard disk partitions"

You should see it there. Then right click and create a new simple volume. Follow instructions and you should see the drive.
