I have put together some parts for a new build Listed Below

CPU - Ryzen 7 3700x

GPU - Sapphire RX480

Ram - CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB 3600

Motherboard - ASUS ROG Strix B450-F motherboard

Power Supply - Corsair CP-9020102-UK CX550M 550 W 80+ Bronze Power Supply

Storage - 240gb SSD, 2TB HHD

Case - Phanteks p350x

I really do like the look of the case so i am thinking of getting this one and does seem to be reasonable modular. Maybe a swap of the motherboard as might be better looking ones.

if this is all new components and a gaming pc, it's pretty unbalanced, as you're pairing a high end cpu with an old low end gpu.

the rog strix b450 isn't a good motherboard and will struggle with the 3700x.

what is the purpose of this build, country and budget? we might be able to help with better build suggestions that are more balanced.

@boggy77  I do already have the rx480 but will be looking to upgrade that closer to christmas so was looking for a completely new build to get all the parts now apart from the GPU due to money at the moment. What kind of motherboard would you recommend for the Cpu

with an old low end gpu

What? so you saying that the gtx 1060 6gb is low end OLD gpu?. The rx480 is still great. But yes you should go with r5 3600 and save money for a new gpu later

for the ryzen 7 3700x, asus prime pro, or asus strix x570-e will do a great job. Asus'  x570 motherboards are just great.

What budget for the whole build so i can help you the best?

Ok so you think i should go with a ryzen 5 3600 to save money to upgrade the gpu later on

Yes, the ryzen 5 3600 is very close to the ryzen 7 3700x in games. Yes it wont be as good in eidting/renderin/future etc, but it will do the job great.

For the ryzen 5 3600, msi tomahawk max motherboard, 16gb 3600mhz cl16 ram will be good.

You can wait and save money to christmas for amd new gpu's or nvidia 3000 -series

I am looking at around 600 without the gpu upgrade or around 1000 with the gpu

ok so the ryzen 5 3600, msi tomahawk max and 16gb 3600mhz cl16 is around 400 dollars. That leaves 600 dollars to GPU. Wait for christmas when new gpu should come

ok that sounds good to me where i live at the moment they have the ryzen 7 3700x on sale which brings the price of the two very close. What would you recommend me buying for that cpu. if you think that would be better as price is similar

the ryzen 3700x can go with the MSI motherboard and the ram so will it be 500 dollars for gpu then?

yes that sounds good so you recommend the MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard or the asus prime pro, or asus strix x570-e to go with the ryzen 7 3700x. Then get the power supply i shown and ram ( Power Supply - Corsair CP-9020102-UK CX550M 550 W 80+ Bronze Power Supply, Ram - CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB 3600)

msi tomahawk MAX the max mean it support 3000 -series ryzen without the MAX at the end you need to bios update it. For the ryzen 7 3700x b450 tomahwak max will be good enough, but for overclokcing, pci e 4 support and better look asus x570 prime pro will be better

You don't need an X570 board for a 3600 or 3700X. The Tomahawk MAX would do just fine. Then the money that you save can be put to one side for the gpu upgrade.

There is over £100 price difference between those two boards. Even if you didn't use it for the gpu it could buy you a bigger ssd, better psu or aftermarket cooler etc.

yes. it's still good for 1080p 30/60fps. but for a system with a current gen ryzen 7 in and a x570 board, it's a low end gpu.
