Opera GX

Anyone else using Opera GX?  What are your thoughts on it?

Do you need to need to jump off a bridge to know that you'll likely be severely hurt/dead once you hit the ground?

It's a browser. Based off chromium and is owned by a Chinese company. It's a variant of Opera (which I've used) with some pretend features that supposedly appeals to "gamers".

 

While I do agree that some features are appealing, like network and RAM limiter... It's still just a gimmick of a browser at the end of the day. And those "limiters" are literally the only real selling point of it IMO. 

The rest is basically just fancy "gaming buzz words" for "notifications", "custom themes", "gaming news"... All craps you can have on any other browser... But hey, it's "gaming themed" and baked in!

Twitch integration... Just set twitch as your homepage if you're on there so much. Don't want to miss someone going live? Set up notifications. It's seriously nothing special.

Do yourself a favor and don'y download it. I just found out a weird thing with opera
