So I have a 4k monitor and my 1070 runs 4k ok but it's not great. I like playing games like Star Citizen which require a lot of processing power. So I was wondering if anyone had any upgrade recommendations that aren't super expensive. I'm willing to go up to $500 USD but obviously I want the most bang for my buck. Thank you, here's my current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Maihym/saved/MqjYcf

I have been looking at the rtx 2070 supers myself recently but my budget is slightly higher than yours. the best advice I can give you is to watch the linked video and the comparison page linked below.

I've been looking at the Radeon 5700 XT and its performance seems to be better than the 2070 but I guess there are other issues with it? I'm honestly not sure but the 5700 is also cheaper than the 2070 so idk.

the video I posted has the AMD 5700 and the Nvidia 2060 in a split decision from linus and one other in which the 5700 is best performance and the 2060 is the best features. for about $100 more the 2070 super comes in and kicks ass against the 5700.

and yes people have been having issues with the drivers for the 5700 version 20.2.2, they have had to uninstall it and reinstalled drivers 20.2.1 which seemed to fix most of their issues.

My bad you said 2070 super and I was thinking just a 2070 which I was originally looking to upgrade to before seeing the 5700 xt.

I would watch the video because it compares all the best cards of 2019 at different price ranges in which one is the match upbetween the 5700 and 2060 at the $300-$350 range. at $400-$450 range you only get slightly tweeked 2060s so 5700 won by default and then at the $500-$550 range the 2070 super came into play and destroyed the 5700.

the other part is a comparison list of the cards from the different companies selling them. the S and A tiers are mostly 2080s, the B and C tiers are usually the 2070s and the D and E tiers are the 2060s. and separate list for the AMDs and 10XX cards too.
