Msi B450 not recognizing ram

So I just bought all the components for a new build:

Cpu: Ryzen 5 3600x

Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max

Ram: Team T-Force Vulcan Z 2x 8 GB DDR4 3000

Gpu: MSI GTX 1660 super Ventus xs

Psu: EVGA 600w GD 

 

I got everything hooked up out of the case, the problem i'm having is the motherboard is not detecting the ram. I've tried switching the ram sticks and just trying one stick to see if that would work, but no dice. I have looked (very closely) but there is nothing that I could see that could be blocking it.

It recognizes the cpu, but it wont get past the ram so I don't know if it recognizes anything else. What could be the cause and how can I fix it?

 

And yes I am putting the sticks in the correct slots for the motherboard, I've checked and double checked and even tried the wrong slots just to see if that would work for some reason.

Do you have other RAM that you could put into the computer just to test if it would work? It would help to know if the issue is being caused by the RAM or the motherboard. I'm not entirely sure what could be causing this though. If you can figure out which part is causing the problem, I would just get it replaced.

Unfortunately I don't have any other ram I could use. I might be able to pick some up this next weekend, so I'll try that, we'll see what happens though.
